Due to the large amount of new artist submissions received at Winter Music Conference this year, we will need a week or two to review everything (again) at our next operations meeting prior to contacting anyone.

Please don't think we forgot about you. In fact, we listened to most of the submissions each night so we wouldn't forget, and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of music received.

This year was a great year for us at WMC. We met a lot of contacts, saw some good shows, and had a substantial amount of submissions for potential artists on Modern Beat Digital. We had a great time exhibiting, and may consider it again next year.

It was nice to be back around some familiar faces, as well as meeting so many new ones. It is very exiting to see the quality of new artists out there, and as we stated before, we are really looking forward to working with some of these artists in the future.

As always, it was nice to get back home. We have a great deal of work to do now, and are focused on getting busy and back to work. Please stay tuned to Modern Beat Digital and Modern Beat Productions for updates on future releases, new artists, and also upcoming news.

Saturday at WMC - always a busy day!

Today at Winter Music Conference, there are a few more panels, seminars and demo listenings, as well as day two of Ultra Music Festival.

We will be around the Miami Beach Resort and spa this morning, and then heading down to South Beach to check out Remix Hotel, sponsored by Remix magazine (and it's partners). While we're down there we are meeting a friend from OM records, and then heading down two Ultra Music Festival. Afterwords we are heading to our first annual private Modern Beat Digital company party. It looks to be a busy day, so here we go!

Today Jamvana.com, one of Modern Beat Digital's retailers, co-sponsored the "Splash Down" pool party with Fidget magazine. Artists included Rich Vision, Keoki & Decoding Jesus, and Viro & Rob Analyze to name a few. David Edward and Owen Sawyer from Modern Beat Digital were interviewed by Jamavana, and will be shown on their upcoming podcast and video feeds posted on Jamvana and Symphonic Distribution's respective websites (www.Jamvana.com & www.SymphonicDistribution.com).

Panels today included: networking for success; RSS feeds, podcasting and webcasts; mock negotiations workshop; and the road to radio along with other seminars. Also, demo listening workshops continued, and we were happy to hear some outstanding submissions. We are looking forward to following up with some of these artists soon!

Photo shoots started today for our videocast, as well as upcoming album covers featuring the Modern Beat Orchestra. The rest of the video footage will be completed tomorrow.

Tonight we also are attending "Hope Records and Thearapy Sessions" party at Shine tonight, inside the Shelborne Hotel. Artists include Nick Warren, Dave Seaman, 16 Bit Lolitas, Lexicon Ave. and more...

Update from Miami...

Now that we're done exhibiting, we've been able to catch some great clinics and panels. Topics included: alternative revenue through social media, new directions in electronic media, licensing, mobile music, and legal issues.

Some of tonight's events include the International Dance Music Awards, and tons of parties... we're shooting our video podcast live from the Doubletree Grand in downtown Miami. Things are only going to get busier from here on out. Stay tuned for more!

Day two was another great success at the Modern Beat Digital Booth. Once again, we had a large number of people stop by and show interest in the record label and it's artists.

It was nice to see some familiar faces today again. We were visited by our distribution company, Symphonic Distribution, and got the chance to catch them in a digitial distribution panel that included representatives from Beatport, Juno Downloads, Jamvana, Groove Media, Broken Records, Mixmatch and IODA.

By the time our second and final day of exhibiting was over, we noticed we had tons of demo submissions from a vast group of artists. We are very excited to start listening to all of them! Although there are some great parties tonight, we have a lot of work to do, and we be staying in to catch up. We will be back at WMC tomorrow and will see everybody there!

WMC is finally here and off to a great start! The exhibit hall was packed today, and we had a fantastic turnout at the Modern Beat Digital Booth. I'm sure there were some great panels today, but we didn't have a chance to get to any of them because we were so busy at the booth!
