We will be helping out with CityMac, TedxNexGenAsheville and TedX Asheville this weekend at The Orange Peel in downtown Asheville. The events are sold out, but you can view online on livestream at the following addresses:

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxNextGenerationAsheville, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDx[name] event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

In case you wondered where we were last weekend, the president of Modern Beat Productions, David Edward Jensen, joined his fellow Alumna with Team UNCA for the 48 Hour Film Festival in Asheville, North Carolina. Screenings were this week at Asheville Pizza & Brewing Company, and the winners will be announced next week! Thank you to all that helped out.. it was a blast!

After plenty of time in the studio, the Modern Beat Orchestra is ready to release their long-awaited first single from their upcoming album!

"Talk to You" featuring Jennifer Anne, is loaded with eight different remixes by the Modern Beat Orchestra, including progressive house, breaks, live, vocal and dub mixes. Coming soon to on Modern Beat Digital Records and most major online retailers!

The animation effect is achieved by stacking photos. The photos are not manipulated in any way. Each photo was taken individually with a 30 second shutter. I used a flashlight and drew in the air to get the lightdrawing effect. I don't show up in the shots because I stay moving. The actresses show up because they held each pose for the full 30 seconds required for each shot. I'm pretty happy with it, but would love feedback and suggestions. American Remains recounts the life story of James Anse, as told to an itinerant preacher on a hot summer evening. James, a ruined real-estate developer, whose life has long been ruled by devastating ambition, has reached a point where he is forced to question his decisions, and face a past which cannot be undone.
